Jesse McCartney marries Katie Peterson - Page Six
Jesse McCartney and Katie Peterson are officially husband and wife.
The lovebirds tied the knot at the Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel, Calif., on Saturday, according to People, who was first to break the news.
The outlet reports that the two were married by Peterson’s uncle, exchanged vows they wrote themselves and even had their beloved pup Bailey involved, serving as a flower girl.
McCartney wore a Brioni tuxedo and a cream-colored shirt for the special day, while his blushing bride stunned in a Galia Lahav couture dress with champagne-colored Jimmy Choos.
“I think that moment of settling in at the altar and just watching her come down is going to be pretty special and having our families there and witnessing all of it,” McCartney, 34, gushed to People ahead of the big day. “It’s hard not to be romantic about that portion of the night.”
He continued, “I cry watching a Subaru commercial. That kind of sums it up for you. So I don’t know how I’m going to get through this… I get dewy, as they say.”
McCartney teased that the big day was fast approaching, writing via Instagram on Thursday, ”It’s wedding cake season and we’re the first in line ❤️” alongside a sweet snap of him and his now-bride, who wore an all-white, feathered set.
The “Leavin'” crooner popped the question in September 2019 after seven years of dating. The couple originally had to postpone their wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“It was a bummer because we got engaged in the end of 2019 and were looking at venues by the beginning of 2020,” McCartney told Us Weekly in August. “We were thinking we’d be married by October of 2020. And then that all, of course, got put on hold.”
“It was sad, too, because the first venue that we saw, we fell in love with, and we were like, ‘This is our place, this is our spot.’ Everything just kind of kept getting pushed, but it didn’t get any bigger,” he explained, adding that the guest list remained at 150 people.
It’s been a busy month for McCartney, who released his fifth solo studio album, “New Stage,” on Oct. 8.
“[The album] follows a hopeless romantic who finally finds himself in the relationship of his dreams,” McCartney wrote on Instagram at the time, in a nod to Peterson, also 34.
The newlyweds will likely be able to squeeze in a honeymoon, as the pop star recently postponed his fall tour to next spring due to the pandemic.
“You’ll have plenty of time to memorize all of the new songs,” he wrote on Instagram on Oct. 14. “Until then, stay safe, stay healthy, and I’ll see you in 2022!”
