Kanye West says headlines about kids get on his nerves in Cardi B's 'Hot S--t' - Page Six
Kanye West raps about how he can’t stand reading headlines about the four children he shares with ex-wife Kim Kardashian in his new song with Cardi B and Lil Durk, “Hot S–t.”
“Another headline, ‘Where your head at?’ / ‘N—a, go home, where your kids at?’ / They be on my nerve, they be on my nerve,” West says in his verse of the collaboration, which dropped Friday.
The Grammy winner, 45, also raps about being in “pain,” a possible nod to his very public divorce from Kardashian, 41.
“I’m just sayin’, now I start to get used to the pain / ‘Til one day I said, ‘F–k it,’ brought my masseuse on the plane,” he says in the track.
West made headlines in March when he claimed Kardashian did not let him see their four children: North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3. He also publicly dragged the Skims founder for allowing North to post videos to TikTok without his permission.
As far back as January, he seemed to hint at his concerns about not being able to see his kids, saying, “Nothing with my career, with this rap, with this media, with none of that, that’s gonna keep me from my children. And that’s what I want everybody to know.”
He added, “Don’t play with me, don’t play with my children. Ain’t no security gonna get in between me and my children, and you ain’t gonna gaslight me.”
That same month, West claimed he was not invited to Chicago’s birthday party, but he ultimately ended up attending the event anyway.
At the time, he had just purchased a $4.5 million home across the street from Kardashian’s Hollywood Hills home to be closer to his family.
But Kardashian has repeatedly said that she was not keeping West from seeing their kids and in March even begged the Yeezy designer to stop pushing that narrative.
The “Kardashians” star also shared a rare statement on West’s behavior toward her in January, writing in part, “Kanye’s constant need for attacking me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create.”
She added, “Divorce is difficult enough on our children and Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all.”
Kardashian, who filed to divorce West in February 2021, has moved on with boyfriend Pete Davidson. West made several threatening statements toward Davidson after news of their relationship broke, but he has stayed off the grid since being temporarily booted from Instagram in March.
Kardashian recently shared that she introduced Davidson, 28, to her kids after six months of dating. The “Saturday Night Live” alum was seen hanging out with Saint in June.
